Shelby is an adorable mixed-breed puppy with a sweet, gentle nature. She’s about 15 weeks old and currently weighs 14.4 pounds. Her mother appeared to be a small long-haired Dachshund-type mix, and because dad is unknown, Shelby’s exact mix is a mystery. Based on mom’s size, we estimate Shelby will likely be medium-sized (around 35–45 lbs) when fully grown.

Shelby had a rough start and missed some early socialization, but she is now in a foster home where she has been making great progress. She lives with other dogs and has learned a lot by following their lead. She’s beginning to come when called, seek attention, and show her playful puppy side.

Shelby is still a shy girl in new situations, especially around loud noises or busy environments. She would do best in a home with at least one confident, well-balanced dog to help continue building her confidence.

A home with older children or adults would likely be the best fit. Shelby is a loving puppy who wants to connect with her people—she just needs a patient family willing to give her time, reassurance, and continued guidance as she grows.
