Jasper

Jasper
Mixed Breed
Male
Jasper is an approximately 3–4 year old, 14-lb neutered male small-breed mix with a beautiful long coat. He appears to have some dachshund, Pomeranian, and Chihuahua in his mix. Jasper is striking with one brown eye and one blue eye with a little brown, and his mostly white coat has soft tan/red patches and speckling that almost looks merle in places.
Jasper came from a difficult start. He was dumped on a busy road in Louisiana along with several similar small dogs, and he was understandably nervous around people at first. With time and patience, he has been learning that people can be kind.
Jasper is a playful little guy who loves other friendly dogs, and having a confident canine companion helps him feel more secure. When he gets excited, he does the cutest zoomies and play bows. Once he feels safe, his silly personality comes out and he loves to play.
He will need a patient home willing to give him time to build trust. Loud or hectic environments can overwhelm him, so a calm home with a few people and a securely fenced yard would be ideal. Because he can be a flight risk, extra care with doors and gates is important.
Jasper is crate trained and house trained once he understands his routine. He has very little leash experience so far. He has done well with grooming when handled gently.
With patience, kindness, and another playful dog to help show him the ropes, Jasper will make a wonderful companion for the right home.
