Alma - The 1920s Gang - Available to Meet in Vermont
Mixed Breed
Female, 13 wks, 12 lbs. (Born 9/5/25)
Meet sweet Alma, currently thriving with her foster family in Vermont. Her fosters have over 40 years of experience with dogs, and they describe Alma as an exceptionally easy and delightful puppy. She’s gentle, eager to learn, and quickly picking up good habits from both her fosters and their four resident dogs.
Alma absolutely loves outdoor adventures—especially exploring the woods and joyfully running through the snow with her canine friends. After playtime, she’s happiest snuggling up with her special human to warm up. She may have a bit of retriever in her, as she proudly carries sticks around just like her foster dog pals. She also enjoys choosing soft squeaky toys to play with, from a basket available to her.
She’s very food-motivated and eager to please, which makes training a joy. Alma is currently working on recall and has happily eaten everything her fosters have offered. She’s doing wonderfully with her house manners, starting to show signs she needs to go outside for potty and has copied her foster dog pals, doing her business in the wooded areas just off the main yard. She’s sleeping 6–8 hours overnight without issue and having no accidents during the day, provided she is taken out regularly. At night, she prefers to sleep close to her people, but she does very well in a kennel. She may whine for a few minutes when placed in the kennel but will settle on a warm blanket and sleep.
Alma gets along beautifully with every dog she meets and takes corrections from them very well, but she will try again. LOL She is still deciding whether cats might want to play with her too. She adores children, though she’s still learning not to jump up in her excitement. She’s not a mouthy puppy but may occasionally give a gentle nibble as she continues to learn.
With continued patience, consistency and love, Alma will make an amazing companion.
