Zatara - Available to Meet in Vermont
Mixed Breed
Female
Zatara is a gentle, resilient girl who has survived more than most dogs ever should. After spending over two months on the run in Cambridge, she was finally trapped by Sue Wear and brought to safety. When she arrived, she was completely shut down—scared, exhausted, and carrying wounds around her neck consistent with having been tied or chained.
But with time, safety, and the right canine companions, Zatara has begun to blossom.
This beautiful 4-year-old, 45-pound girl has discovered confidence and comfort in the company of gentle, large male dogs. Their presence soothes her, and she absolutely thrives with another calm, steady dog in the home. With the right buddy beside her, she learns faster, relaxes more deeply, and feels brave enough to explore this new life.
Zatara is still learning what it means to live inside a home, to trust routine, and to receive affection. She will need patience, a quiet environment, and adopters who let her unfold at her own pace. But once she trusts, she is soft, sweet, and full of quiet devotion. Her affection is tender, and her progress—each small step—is a beautiful thing to witness.
After everything she has endured, Zatara is ready for a home that will honor her past, support her healing, and celebrate every moment of growth as she continues to come out of her shell.
