Venus has had a tough year - she’s lost both her owner and the only dog friend she’s ever had, at the same time. She didn’t get much socialization with animals during her formative years, and, as a result of that, she is not comfortable with other animals and is reactive on a leash when she sees one. This leaves her looking for a new home as an only pet.

What she lacks with her dog social skills, she makes up tenfold with her people skills. She does great meeting new people and is polite and friendly. She excels at obedience training and has learned several commands. She has not had any leash training so would need someone who is willing to work with her on that or has a fenced-in-yard for her to explore safely in.

She may have some things to learn, but she is a willing and eager student for the right home.
