“This group of puppies and their mama were abandoned on property purchased by one of our deputies. When he arrived to clean up, he found the puppies sheltering in a culvert while their mom hid in pampas grass by the roadside, doing her best to care for them. With an extreme cold front approaching, I knew they wouldn’t survive in the damp, freezing conditions. After loading the puppies, the mama ran over, placed her paws on the vehicle, and seemed to plead, Please take me too. Now they’re safe, but they still need loving homes!
