Riley is a gentle, mellow, incredibly cuddly little guy who melts into your arms like a teddy bear. He’s soft, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He gets along beautifully with his foster sister, and while he’s shy when meeting new adults. He’s doing wonderfully with both potty training and crate training, goes outside reliably, and also understands pee pads. He’s smart, easy to love, and learning quickly. He’s also starting leash training and making steady progress, and based on his sweet demeanor, he would likely do well with older children who can be gentle with him.

Riley’s confidence grows each day, and you can see how much he enjoys discovering the world around him—grass, snow, toys, cozy beds, and warm hands.

Riley’s start in life was very different. He came from a situation where he was not cared for and had never been outdoors. When he arrived, his fur and nails were in such poor condition that he needed to be shaved down, but he relaxed instantly during his warm bath, as if he knew kindness had finally found him. Since then, he has blossomed into a happier, more secure pup who now enjoys the feeling of the ground under his feet and all the simple pleasures of being loved.
