Great Pyrenees Mix
Male, 2 yrs.

Flour is a 90-pound gentle giant with the softest heart. This sweet, shy boy came to Connecticut from Louisiana in August 2025 after being abandoned with his sister, Two Socks. While she quickly found her forever home, Flour is still waiting for his turn.

He’s done well on his own, but he’d truly thrive with a calm, respectful dog companion to help him feel safe and show him the world isn’t so scary. Life in a busy Stamford kennel has been overwhelming for him, and he’s ready for a quieter, more rural home where he can finally relax and be himself.

Flour is a Great Pyrenees mix with a natural instinct to “herd” and watch over his people. Once he settles in, his goofy, playful personality really shines through. He loves the snow, enjoys the beach, and just needs a patient home to help him blossom.

Recently, Flour was drinking excessive amounts of water, and we suspected diabetes insipidus. He has responded very well to medication, and his urine concentration has improved significantly. Other than this, he is in very good health.

He does great in a crate, is very quiet in his kennel, and has no reactivity. He’s also been learning to walk nicely on a gentle leader and is making great progress.

Best fit:
• Quiet, low-traffic home (rural/suburban preferred)
• Another calm dog is a big plus
• No cats

Older kids above age 10 preferred
Flour has so much love to give—he just needs someone willing to give him the chance.
