Cotton is a beautiful 6 ½-month-old doodle mix who currently weighs about 22 lbs and won’t get much bigger. She was rescued from the streets of southern Louisiana, where life had been very unkind to her as a homeless puppy. But despite her rough start, Cotton is blossoming into the sweetest, most playful companion.

At first, Cotton can be shy with new people, but she truly wants to trust. Once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through — she gives the gentlest kisses, leans in close for comfort, and bonds deeply with the people she connects with. She also has a wonderfully silly side: she’ll bound around like a deer, toss her toys into the air to catch, and zip around with the cutest zoomies.

Cotton absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with at least one playful, confident friend to show her the ropes. She’s kennel trained, doing great with house training, and comes when called. Because of her past, she’ll need a secure fenced yard as she adjusts to her new surroundings, but once she settles in, she just wants to be with you or her doggy companions.

This sweet girl would thrive in a calm household with adults or older children, as younger kids may feel overwhelming to her at first. She has a poodle-type coat that will require regular brushing and occasional grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best.

Cotton is truly a special dog — resilient, affectionate, playful, and loyal. With patience and love, she will blossom into the most devoted companion and bring endless joy to her forever home.
